The art of shocking

Ever tried to shock anybody?

Cut your hair, dy it green, red, blue or black.
Wear black clothes and studded belts. Maybe something a bit more courful.

Pierce your ears (or whereever).
People might ask questions, but then they shrug and think no more of it.
They might even wonder if you are something as bad as an emo.
I always thought that was a state of mind most commonly found in teenagers…

Well. Nothing of this is really shocking.

Shocking is showing up at work, wearing nothing but black.
And something that looks uncanningly like a pair of dirty foam mushrooms:

I guarantee; this will be the talk for the next month!
Emus do not wear pink shoes!

Or do they?
